Stricker Has No Mercy
Every time that Tiger Woods stopped being number one in the world, Phil Mickelson left his second place in the ranking and that Europeans, particularly Britons, were made with posts of honour to the best golfers in the world, United States realized that it was needed a leader, a player who fill those gaps. Many names sounded, but almost nobody remembered for Steve Stricker. The North American, 44 years old, has shown today that seems chosen to do so. It makes little noise, is discreet, restrained and, moreover, plays very well. So much so that his 63 punches in the opening round of the PGA, seven under par, equalled the record as return more low in the history of the great, and has even given time to infect Miguel Angel Jimenez, his companion’s Party, which finished with a few deserving 69 strokes (- 1).
